MICHAEL HILL INTERNATIONAL VIOLIN COMPETITION 2019
The “Michael Hill” is recognised as one of the most sought-after international violin prizes and the careers of future musical legends are launched here in New Zealand where they go head to head for a prize package valued at over $100,000.
The chamber music Round III or semi-final is a distinctive feature of the Michael Hill, which demonstrates the top six semi-finalists skills and artistry as ensemble players and musical leaders.
Competitors will perform Mozart quintets with highly regarded New Zealand musicians; Ashley Brown on cello, Andrew Beer on violin, and Gillian Ansell and Julia Joyce on viola.
