Inspector Byron Coll

Nathaniel Stookey The Composer is Dead
Mussorgsky Night on the Bare Mountain

Who killed the composer?

Join the APO for an exciting afternoon of symphonic investigation. A classic whodunnit with dramatic music, mystery and Lemony Snicket's signature dark humour.

Follow the clues as the Inspector interrogates each section of the orchestra about what they were doing on the night of the murder. Hear the instruments defer the blame, present their alibis and offer up reasons why they could not have committed the crime. This is a lively and interactive way for the whole family to learn more about the instruments in the orchestra.

Written by Lemony Snicket (author of A Series of Unfortunate Events) with music composed by Nathaniel Stookey, this symphonic murder mystery is a lively, interactive and entertaining way for the whole family to learn more about the instruments in the orchestra.

Also featuring two story-telling works for orchestra: Mussorgsky’s Night on the Bare Mountain, famously featured in Disney’s Fantasia, and Saint-Saëns’ Danse macabre, widely used in TV shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Grimm and more recently Mr Robot.
