Miriam has recently moved to Auckland from Bristol (UK) and she is delighted to be part of a team that is centred around the musical enrichment of young people. She believes in giving every child access to music education and has been lucky enough to witness the benefits first-hand in her past work as a music teacher.
After completing her Music Degree at the University of Sheffield in 2014 Miriam began her career in music education, working as an itinerant singing teacher and conductor across Bristol and Bath. She has worked with a number of organisations including Bristol Plays Music, B&NES Music Hub, Bath Abbey’s Specialist Singing Programme and the Fantasy Orchestra.
Miriam also loves to perform as a singer, pianist and flautist. She enjoyed performing in Bristol’s biggest music halls and tiniest pubs with a variety of ensembles and bands. She is also a keen songwriter and regularly shares her music online.
After three years of leading choirs, teaching singing and playing gigs, Miriam bid farewell to her pupils, bandmates, friends and family and set off to New Zealand. She’s looking forward to being involved in the music scene here in Auckland.
