The entrants for this competition are set with the task of composing a 90-second piece of music for a full orchestra. They’ll be judged on technique, originality and potential in order to be selected to workshop their piece with the APO at the Our Voice Workshop.
Two entries will be selected by the University of Auckland and APO Communities Composer, Ryan Youens, to participate in the Our Voice Orchestral Workshop. At the workshop, their piece will be rehearsed and performed by a live orchestra and they will have the opportunity to work with APO’s Communities Composer.
Applicants must be currently enrolled at a New Zealand secondary school. This includes home-schooled students enrolled at Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu.
Applications close on 1 June 2020.
