Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra is proud to present the 11th annual Rönisch Auckland Secondary Schools Piano Competition. The competition is open to all secondary schools in Auckland. Each school may nominate one student representative at Grade 8 level or above to compete for the prestigious title of Auckland’s top secondary school pianist.
Established in 2008, the competition encourages excellence in piano playing and has become a rite of passage for many emerging young artists who have gone on to start international careers.
The competition is presented alongside Patron and competition founder, Bryan Sayer, with the support of the University of Auckland School of Music and Raye Freedman Arts Centre. Prize money is kindly donated by Warren Sly of Sly’s Pianos.
