Who can get it?

Two to three positions are available each year to postgraduate-level string players aged 30 and under. Positions are granted to musicians wishing to take their orchestral performance standards and experience to the next level.

Why should I apply?

The Auckland Philharmonia Fellows rehearse and perform with the orchestra in a diverse range of concerts, providing them with genuine experiences as a professional musician and increasing their network with Auckland’s orchestra. This programme has proved immensely successful, with some alumni of the programme gaining full-time tenure with the Auckland Philharmonia.

Fellows receive:

  • 100 calls and a per call payment
  • 12 lessons from string sectional principals
  • A stipend

How can I apply?

The Auckland Philharmonia Fellowship Programme has been a wonderfully rewarding experience both professionally and personally. It was the perfect bridge for me to transition from being a fresh graduate to a professional working musician
