This programme fosters young New Zealand composers and provides them with a platform to test their “Orchestral Voice”. The collaboration between the APO and the University of Auckland School of Music gives young composers, at both secondary school and tertiary level, the opportunity for their works to be workshopped, performed and recorded.

This session for tertiary students will provide exposure and insight into compositional techniques for both string and wind ensembles.
Friday 22 September, 1–3.30pm
Auckland Philharmonia Hall, Mt Eden, Auckland Central
Two secondary school students and three tertiary students will have their orchestral works rehearsed and recorded by the full APO conducted by Hamish McKeich.
