Connecting with Music

Saint-Saëns Organ Symphony

1pm Wednesday 2 September, Auckland Town Hall

Graham Abbott presents a concert for low decile schools, ‘unwrapping’ Saint-Saëns’ Organ Symphony.

The ‘Organ Symphony’ is justly loved for its terrific melodies and, not least, for the spectacular contribution of the organ. It is such a warhorse, though, that it’s very easy to overlook how ingeniously it is constructed.

This free concert is supported with pre-concert visits and buses to ensure all schools get their orchestral fix.

What our schools say:

‘Most of my students did not know what the APO was until they came to this concert. It definitely broadened my students’ concept of music and knowledge of the arts. Thank you.’– De La Salle College
