In line with New Zealand’s ongoing response to COVID-19 the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra regrets to announce the following changes to their upcoming performance schedule:
Wed 2 Sept Metlifecare Unwrap the Music: Saint-Saëns' Organ Symphony
RESCHEDULED TO WED 18 NOVEMBER
Sat 5 Sept Room on the Broom & Stickman presented by KBB music
APO and/or Ticketmaster will be communicating directly with ticketholders regarding these changes. The APO will continue to monitor Government guidelines regarding the COVID-19 situation and how this relates to future APO events and activities. If further changes to events occur, APO will communicate with audiences, artists and stakeholders appropriately and as swiftly as possible.
“These decisions are always difficult to make but we are committed to supporting our players and audiences through these times” says Barbara Glaser, APO Chief Executive.
“On top of the additional pressures that comes with managing a constantly changing performance year and the economic uncertainty our entire sector faces, our APO team has been committed to maintaining connections with our audiences online.
The work our APO team have done on curating and delivering digital content since the first lockdown has been inspiring. In fact, based on online views alone, we have ‘SOLD OUT’ the Auckland Town Hall 2,349 times since March.”
Nothing quite beats the live concert hall experience but the online offerings from Auckland’s orchestra appear to be resonating exceptionally well with a global audience. Since the initial March lockdown, the APO has registered more than 3.8 million performance views across their digital channels, reaching audiences from 29 countries.
So while New Zealand navigates the next few uncertain weeks at least we can relax and from the comfort of our own bubbles and join the rest of the world in embracing our own Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.
