APO announces artist changes for Unwrap the Music

Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO) has announced further changes to the 2017 Unwrap the Music series. This includes both Unwrap Beethoven’s Fourth Symphony on 26 July and Unwrap Brahms’ Second Piano Concerto on 11 October.

Unfortunately, due to illness, presenter Richard Gill will not be travelling from Australia to front these performances as planned. Instead, the presentations will be delivered by two highly regarded specialists, respectively.

The first is Australian conductor and radio presenter, Graham Abbott, who will present Unwrap the Music: Beethoven’s Fourth Symphony on 26 July. Abbott is the APO’s former Unwrap presenter, prior to Richard Gill, from 2010 – 2014.

The second is Guy Noble who will present Unwrap the Music: Brahms’ Second Piano Concerto on 11 October. Noble stood in for Gill for Unwrap the Music: The Four Seasons last month - the sold out show was very well received.

APO Chief Executive Barbara Glaser says, “We wish Richard the very best in his recovery. Having worked with Graham and Guy before, we know they will bring their vast experience with and entertaining perspectives on these popular pieces of music,” Glaser says.
