The Trusts Community Foundation Opera in Concert performance of Aida presented by the APO, in association with New Zealand Opera will be performed for one night only on 20 July. Some single tickets and restricted view seats (reduced price tickets with no visibility of surtitle screen) remain in the hall, but for those who miss out, the APO is proud to broadcast the entire concert live via an international live stream, in collaboration with live stream broadcast partners JX Live and RNZ Concert. The live stream will be accessible from the APO Facebook page and website www.apo.co.nz from 7:30pm NZST.
Viewers can watch the entire concert uninterrupted from the comfort of their own homes or via their mobile devices, as well as enjoying an expert panellist discussion during the interval, featuring APO Director of Artistic Planning Ronan Tighe, and Artistic Director of State Opera of South Australia Stuart Maunder AM, who has stage directed several APO Opera in Concert performances, including Friday’s performance of Aida. The live stream will also include surtitles.
Verdi’s Aida is a worldwide favourite, and is among the most-performed operas in the world. This is the first time the APO has presented it as an Opera in Concert performance for Auckland audiences, and it will be conducted by APO Music Director Giordano Bellincampi.
