Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO) has announced a late change to this week’s concert Unwrap the Music: Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, taking place on Wednesday 24 May at Auckland Town Hall.
Unfortunately, due to illness, presenter Richard Gill will not be travelling from Australia to front the performance this week. Instead, Australian broadcaster and musical entertainer Guy Noble will step in. Noble will present the performance and Concertmaster Andrew Beer will be playing and directing the orchestra.
APO Chief Executive Barbara Glaser says, “Richard is an iconic feature of our Unwrap the Music series and while it is a shame he won’t be with us for this one, Guy Noble is an extremely knowledgeable classical music commentator and will bring considerable wisdom, experience and personality to this enlightening and entertaining event.
“The APO last performed with Guy at the Rotorua Lakeside concert in February this year, and Auckland audiences may remember him from Settling the Score in 2015.
“We wish Richard a speedy recovery and look forward to him returning later in the year,” Glaser says.
