Mia completed her Bachelor of Music (Perf) under Associate Professor Alice Waten in 2017 and is currently working as an Emerging Artist with the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Inspired by the sounds of her father playing jazz piano as a young girl, Mia started violin aged 5 and violin aged 9. During secondary School, she held music scholarships at Narrabundah College and the ANU Open School of Music where she completed both her AmusA on piano, LmusA on violin, and took out first prize at the Open Recital section of the Canberra String Festival.
In 2016 and 2017 she was selected to participate in Sydney Conservatorium's Estivo Chamber Music Summer School in Italy where her love of chamber music has continued to grow. She has worked with Eberhard Feltz and members of the London Haydn, Kuss, and Goldner Quartets.
An experienced orchestral musician, Mia plays regularly with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra. Through Australian Youth Orchestra programs she has toured internationally and has collaborated with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, the Australian World Orchestra and Momentum Ensemble. At the Sydney Conservatorium she has held principal positions in both the Modern Music ensemble and Chamber orchestra.
