Michał Nesterowicz


Principal Conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife and Principal Guest Conductor of Sinfonieorchester Basel, Michał Nesterowicz is in demand worldwide for his dynamic performances and eloquent interpretations of the symphonic repertoire.

In the 2016/17 season he makes his Berlin and Vienna debuts (with the Konzerthausorchester and Tonkünstler- Orchester Niederösterreich respectively) as well as his first visits to the Malmö Symfoniorkester, Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. Following hugely successful debuts last season with the Residentie Orkest and Noord Nederlands Orkest, he returns already to both orchestras as well as maintaining relationships with the Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa, Orchestre National de Lille, Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic Orchestra of Łodz, Real Filharmonia de Galicia and Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra.

As a result of successes in recent years, Mr Nesterowicz has built ongoing relationships with Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona (also leading them on tour to France), Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice and Orquesta Ciudad de Granada. He has also had a regular presence with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester, Tonhalle- Orchester Zürich, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra; and has worked with the likes of the Münchner Philharmoniker, WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln, Deutsches Symfonie-Orchester Berlin, Gulbenkian Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Buffalo Philharmonic, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Phil, Orchestra Filarmônica de Minas Gerais, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine and Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana.

Michał Nesterowicz was the winner of the Cadaqués Orchestra European Conducting Competition in 2008 and among the prizewinners of the sixth Grzegorz Fitelborg International Conducting Competition in Katowice.
