Kristin Darragh is a New Zealand born mezzo soprano, trained at the Royal Academy of Music, London. A regular soloist on the New Zealand opera and concert stage, Kristin gained a full time contract at Theater Lüneburg in Germany where roles included Olga (Eugene Onegin) Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus) Suzuki (Madame Butterfly) Cornelia (Giulio Cesare) Charlotte (Werther) Dritte Dame (Die Zauberflöte) Maddalena (Rigoletto) and Sally Bowles (Cabaret). Further operatic experiences includes Amastre (Xerses) Mercedes (Carmen) Erda (Das Rheingold) La Zia Principessa (Suor Angelica) and the title role in Britten’s Rape of Lucretia. In her upcoming season Kristin returns to perform with New Zealand Opera. She also works professionally as an actor and a voice actor.
