Amalia Hall

Violin

New Zealand violinist Amalia Hall is praised for her "compelling... spellbinding performance", distinguished by her pure and natural artistry.

Amalia's career extends internationally with considerable successes to her name, including winning the 1st prize at a number of international competitions. She is also a major prize winner at numerous others, including the Joseph Joachim International Competition. As a teenager she won all of the major national awards in New Zealand.

Since making her debut at the age of 9 with the Auckland Philharmonia, Amalia has been a regular soloist with orchestras in New Zealand, and concertises internationally as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. Solo appearances have included I Virtuosi Italiani, NDR Radiophilharmonie, National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan and the Mexico State Symphony Orchestra.

Amalia studied at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music with Pamela Frank and Joseph Silverstein, and was appointed as Concertmaster of Orchestra Wellington in 2016.
