Italian tenor Antonello Palombi delights audiences around the world to tremendous critical acclaim. In his United States début as Dick Johnson in La fanciulla del West with Seattle Opera, the Seattle Times proclaimed, “The most pleasant surprise was the discovery of a very fine new tenor in Antonello Palombi, whose singing in rehearsals had set the rumor mills abuzz. As predicted, he has since returned to the Seattle Opera as Calàf in Turandot, Foresto in Attila, Manrico in Il trovatore, Radamès in Aïda, and Canio in Pagliacci. Additional U.S. performances include the title role in Otello at Cincinnati Opera; Canio in Pagliacci with Michigan Opera Theatre; Don Alvaro in La forza del destino and Radamès in Aïda with the former Baltimore Opera; Manrico in Il trovatore with Opera Carolina; Cavaradossi in Tosca with Opera Colorado, Michigan Opera Theatre, Cincinnati Opera, and New Orleans Opera; and Radamès in Aïda with Cincinnati Opera, Atlanta Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, Palm Beach Opera, Toledo Opera, and Opera Carolina. With the Dallas Opera he has appeared as Canio in Pagliacci, Radamès in Aïda, and Calàf in Turandot. In other recent engagements, he joined the Metropolitan Opera for Andrea Chenier, performed as Radamès in Aïda at The Metropolitan Opera and the Saint Louis Symphony; and the title role in Otello for the Nikikai Opera Foundation in Japan. This season, he will return to The Metropolitan Opera to perform as Manrico in Il Trovatore, Calàf in Turandot at Teatro Dell’Opera di Roma; Mefistofele in Faust at Teatro di Pisa, and Radamès in Aïda at Teatro di San Carlo in Naples.
Mr. Palombi is also in extreme demand internationally.
