The Trusts Secondary School Scholarships
Seven year long scholarships available for Auckland Secondary School students.
Student instrumentalists are invited to send their completed application form, audition recording and CV to us by 1 March 2010. The seven selected students are paired with an APO musician for the year, and have 8 free prep sessions with that musician before playing as part of an APO concert. Designed for students considering a career as an orchestral musician.

Manchester Internship Programme
If you have graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree or are currently studying for one, and are thinking of pursuing a career in orchestral music, then apply for one of three annual Manchester orchestral internships. This programme is designed to provide opportunities for serious musicians to experience the real life of an orchestral musician. Interns attend rehearsals and perform in all concerts as requested and are paid an annual stipend. There are also opportunities for lessons and mentoring with section leaders.

The complete Unit of teaching material for Level 1.6 and 2.7 for the school year includes two comprehensive booklets for students and teachers, assessment tasks and schedules, musical score and CDs with recordings of The Ghosts of Denniston, further pieces by Dorothy Buchanan and a live interview with the composer

METANZ: Music Education Trust of Aotearoa New Zealand
METANZ exists to promote music education in New Zealand. This includes making the government aware of curriculum issues, examining the status and future of training of music educators and identifying areas in music education requiring development and attention. Currently METANZ is lobbying for increased musical input in early childhood education and more comprehensive training of music specialists

APOPS schools parntership programme
Auckland Schools have the opportunity to become a “partner” school with the APO. Each APOPS school receives an assigned APO musician mentor who works in the school on a project for the year. Each APOPS school can also receive a visit by an APO Ensemble. APOPS schools receive bus transport to APO Education concerts, and preferential seating
$495 for year membership to become a partner school – 30 schools only accepted per year
