We offer special ticket prices to the majority of our concerts for secondary school and university students interested in developing their talent and appreciation of orchestral music. For more information on any of our Concert Access initiatives, contact Education Manager Catherine Blomfield.

Education Passport 2010
Education Passports will be assigned on a first-in first-served basis, available from 12 October until they run out! Teens must be aged between 15 and 20 on the 25 February 2010 to qualify. Seats issued will range from A Reserve to Thrifty, and APO Ticketing will endeavour to seat passport holders in their preferred area as available. A 2010 Education passport is $200.

APO Young Achievers' Programme
Music students between the ages of 15-20 can be a part of the programme. APO Young Achievers present their own recital concerts twice a year, and receive APO info hot-off-the-press. Able to help sell programmes and usher for APO concerts in exchange for tickets.

Student Rush
Present yourself at the venue box office half an hour before a performance and display your student ID card to receive a Student Rush ticket price ($10-25 depending on concert). Student Rush is dependent on ticket availability.

Volunteering
APO Education hosts a number of volunteers annually, working on our Orchestral Summer School and other large projects. Student work experience, internships and event onsite help is welcome, and in exchange APO Education can provide reference letters and access to our events. Enquiries to Catherine Blomfield

James Wallace Live Experience
If your secondary school is Decile 5 or lower and you’d like to attend a concert, ask your music teacher to apply for the James Wallace Arts Trust Subscription Programme. This programme could allow you to see the concert for free – thanks goes to our sponsor and patron Mr James Wallace for his generous support of the programme.

Connecting with Music
West Auckland secondary school students have the unique opportunity of experiencing live orchestral music for FREE. Simply ask your music teacher to apply for the Trusts School Programme, also known as Connecting with Music.

Open Rehearsals
Opportunities for music students to attend dress rehearsals are available throughout our concert season. If you are a secondary school student you must be accompanied by a school staff member. To arrange your attendance at a dress rehearsal contact our Education Department by clicking here.

Community Orchestras
Special offers to attend selected APO concerts exist for members of the following community orchestras:
Auckland Youth Orchestra, Auckland Chamber Orchestra, Auckland Symphony Orchestra, Manukau City Symphony Orchestra, Waitakere City Symphony Orchestra, St Matthews Chamber Orchestra, Aotea Youth Symphony
Members of these orchestras should talk to their conductor about ticket offers.
